No… we don’t know, officially, why we are called Hoosiers, but it comes with a sense of pride and hospitality!

These baskets included some samples and fun facts about a few of the items Indiana is proudly known for:

•The Indianapolis Motor Speedway – For over 115* years, it has hosted the world’s largest one-day sporting event: The Indianapolis 500.  *The first race was run in 1911, but there were a few years where the race was not run due to WW1 and WW2.

•Abbott’s Candy – Founded in Hagerstown, IN. The state’s oldest candy shop, since 1890.

•Orville Redenbacher - born in Brazille, IN, in 1907 and the founder of the famous popcorn of the same name. Orville tested thousands of hybrid popcorn strains to create a superior, “fluffier” popcorn.

•Albanese Gummi Bears - Located in Merrillville, IN and said to produce “The world’s best gummi bears” for over 40 years.

•Triple XXX Root Beer – Produced since 1895. The last remaining “Thirst Station” is in West Lafayette, IN. The X used to be a grading system in the food & beverage industry.  X= Good.  XX= Better.  XXX= The Best!

•“Parks and Recreation” takes place in the fictional town of Pawnee, IN.

•The local universities are all top-notch and we can make sure your baskets represent your favorite(s)!
